Marie Woodall, was born in Saint Yrieix-la-Perche, a small town near Limoges, France. She grew up in Paris where, in college, she studied foreign languages and Political Economy at the Université de la Sorbonne, where she met her husband Sam. She moved to Washington, D.C. 31 years ago, where she worked for several years in the DC office of Agence France Press (AFP). She and her husband have three children: Alix; Victoria; and William. Her interests include art, cooking, history, languages, music, and traveling.
