Statue of Liberty on Île aux Cygnes

The Statue of Liberty on Île aux Cygnes in Paris is a quarter-scale replica of the Statue of Liberty that stands in New York, also known as Liberty Enlightening the World. The replica was dedicated on July 4, 1889, three years after its counterpart in the United States. It was donated by the Parisian expatriate community in the U.S.

Another Paris-based replica of the Statue of Liberty recently crossed the Atlantic to appear on Ellis Island for Independence Day celebrations, and it will eventually make its way to the French Ambassador’s Residence in Washington, D.C.

We wish all of our friends on both sides of the ocean a happy and healthy celebration of liberty on Independence Day!
