Born and raised in Washington D.C., Brenda Bertholf has lived off and on in Paris since 1991. With over twenty years experience in the fashion industry, notably as European Vice President of Merchandising and Development at Polo Ralph Lauren, Brenda has since channeled her many skills and passions into an independent consulting career. With a focus on the arts, culture and social entrepreneurship, Brenda has helped to build brands, expand business operations and seek out new opportunities for cultural exchange on both sides of the Atlantic.
Known as a creative thinker with proven business skills, Brenda has gravitated naturally to the world of the arts, where she has contributed her expertise to developing luxury brands, cultural projects and artists alike.
Brenda worked closely with Belgian artist and designer Isabelle de Borchgrave, on the strategic and commercial development of her brand, while exposing her work to an American audience.
Working with the Halcyon Incubator and Arts Lab, Brenda provided hands-on support to the development of various start-ups and programs, and especially enjoyed mentoring young artists.
Brenda is also a member of the International Advisory Board of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and was active in building their notoriety through the development of the Paris committee and their programming.
As Senior Advisor to the French-American Cultural Foundation, Brenda will be the first representative of the Foundation with a base in France. Working closely with Executive Director Debra Dunn, Brenda will be carrying out our mission of building partnerships in France and fostering new opportunities and relationships with notable cultural institutions and community members in both France and the US.
