“Alan Pakula: Going For Truth” Screening

Published: June 17, 2022

The premiere of the documentary Alan Pakula: Going For Truth was hosted at the Burke Theater of the United States Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C. on June 15, 2022. The film shares the personal and professional life of filmmaker Alana J. Pakula, who brought some of the most memorable movies of the 20th century to the big screen including “All the President’s Men,” the 1976 political drama-thriller film about the scandal that brought down the presidency of Richard Nixon. Pakula passed away in 1998.

The documentary, produced by Quixotic Endeavors, was previewed 50 years to the week after the Watergate scandal. The event was hosted by Carl Bernstein, Bob Woodward and Sally Quinn.

The French-American Cultural Foundation was honored to be invited to this special event to reflect on this major political moment in American history and to celebrate the filmmaker who brought the story to life on screen.
